Twelve patterns for things that get used, washed, and used again. Every one of them assumes cotton yarn, and that is not a style preference - acrylic melts under a hot pan and holds damp in a drying mat. If a pattern in this category says cotton, treat it as a requirement rather than a suggestion.

The Bowl Cozy is the one to be careful with. It goes in the microwave with a hot bowl inside it, so it has to be 100% cotton thread to thread, including the yarn you use to sew it. Any acrylic content in there is a fire risk, and a cotton-acrylic blend counts as acrylic content.

Nine of the twelve are beginner or confident beginner, and most are one-evening projects on a single skein. The Freeze Pop Holder is worked in worsted on a small G hook (two versions, with or without a closed bottom) and the Sourdough Wrap takes about one skein of worsted cotton on an I hook. The trivets are the densest fabric in the shop, which is exactly what makes them work.

Towel toppers are the sleeper item here: you buy a cheap store towel, crochet a button-loop top onto it, and end up with a hanging towel that costs under $4 to make.
