Home Decor Crochet Patterns
For the room rather than the person: a half-moon rug, a plant hanger, a basket, a round pillow cover, a wall hanging and a corner hammock for stuffed animals.
These are the largest projects in the shop and the ones where yarn choice does the most work. The Half Moon Rug is worked from a single 8.8 oz Caron Cotton Cake in worsted cotton on a J hook - cotton because a rug gets walked on and needs to survive being thrown in the wash, and one cake because the gradient does the color work without you carrying two strands. The Plant Hanger is sized for a 6 inch pot in worsted cotton on a K hook, with extra rows if your pot is bigger.
The Basket is the one people are surprised by: it stands up on its own with no stiffener, no cardboard and no wire, purely because the meadow cluster puff makes a fabric that thick. If you substitute a lighter yarn it will slump, so this is not the pattern to use up a soft acrylic on.
The Round Pillow is worked as two circles joined around a pillow form, so buy the form first and measure it.
