Wearable Accessories Crochet Patterns
Slippers, fingerless gloves, boot cuffs, leg warmers, a wristlet and a chapstick holder.
Four of these have to fit a body part, so here is what to measure before you start. Slippers are written for a women's size 7 with resizing notes covering toddler up through larger sizes, and they take about 150 yards of worsted per pair on a 4.5 mm hook - measure the foot from heel to longest toe and add a quarter inch, no more, because crochet stretches. Fingerless gloves are sized by hand circumference around the knuckles, not by length. Boot cuffs are sized by calf width at the point they will sit, which is usually narrower than you expect. Leg warmers need the widest calf measurement plus nothing at all, since the ribbed top does the gripping.
The two small ones are almost free to make. The Chapstick Holder is 3 inches tall by 1.25 wide in worsted cotton on a small E hook, and the Wristlet is a single strap. Both are good uses for the ends of skeins.
