Holiday & Seasonal Crochet Patterns
Nine seasonal patterns, weighted heavily toward Christmas: a full-size stocking, a tree skirt, a tabletop tree, two ornaments, a mini stocking-and-mitten pair, a holiday rectangle, plus a pumpkin and a wreath for fall.
The honest planning advice for this category is to start early. A tree skirt grows by a full round of stitches every round, so the last three rounds take as long as the first ten. If you want a set of four matching stockings under the tree, that is a September project, not a December one.
Yarn choice matters more here than usual because these get boxed up for eleven months. Acrylic survives storage better than cotton and does not develop the musty smell that a damp basement gives natural fiber. Use cotton only for the pumpkin and wreath, which live out in the room.
The Christmas Rectangle finishes at about 15 by 10 inches in worsted on an I hook, and you can lengthen it by adding rows.
