Meadow Bookmark

Mark your page in handmade style with this delicate meadow stitch bookmark. It is a flat, pretty strip of cluster puff texture that lies smoothly between pages without damaging them — and at about 2 inches wide, it peeks out of the top of a novel just right.

You control the length: the pattern gives you reference measurements of 6, 7, and 8 1/2 inches, and you simply keep going until your bookmark is as long as you like. It uses a tiny amount of yarn, which makes it a perfect scrap project.

You will need an H hook (5 mm), a bit of size 4 yarn, a tapestry needle, and scissors. Stitches are chains, single crochet, double crochet, and my cluster puff, explained step by step — this is one of the friendliest introductions to the meadow stitch in my whole shop.
