About this pattern
The Roxy is my most structured beanie. The brim is worked in front and back post double crochet, which gives real stretchy ribbing rather than a flat band, and the body pairs cluster puffs with back-loop rows for a bolder texture than the rest of the family.
It has the longest stitch list of any of my hats: post stitches, back-loop stitches and their decreases. Three sizes run through in colored brackets: toddler, child and adult. There is a printed gauge of 6 cluster puffs by 8 rows to a 4 inch square, which is the number to check before you start, and I note in the pattern that it moves with the yarn you choose. The PDF does not print a finished height.
Seven pages, nine photos, the gauge, and every post and back-loop stitch written out step by step. This is the hat to make once the plain beanies feel too easy.
