About this pattern
The Cypress is the flattest of my beanies: cluster puffs alternating with third-loop half doubles, so the texture reads as fine ribbing rather than big bobbles. It sits closer to the head than the original Meadow, which is why people reach for it when they want a hat that goes under a hood.
Three sizes: toddler finishes 7.5 inches tall, child just over 8, adult just over 9. This is one of the few patterns where I printed a gauge - 6 cluster puffs by 8 rows should give you a 4 inch square - so if fit worries you, work that swatch first and you will know before you commit.
