Meadow Santa Coaster

Share the holiday cheer with this sweet Santa coaster — a jolly Santa face worked in puff and cluster puff stitches, complete with a bobble-trimmed hat. It is one of my most-loved holiday patterns, and it turns a simple mug of cocoa into a whole Christmas moment.

The coaster starts from a magic circle in white for the beard and builds up to the red hat, finishing at about 5 inches wide and 7 3/4 inches tall. I include notes for making it smaller or bigger by adjusting the cluster puff increase rows, so you can size it for espresso cups or turn it into a mug rug. You will need a J hook (6 mm), size 4 cotton yarn in white and red (I used Hobby Lobby's I Love This Cotton), a tapestry needle, and scissors. Stitches include the magic circle, puff, cluster puff, bobble, double crochet, and half double crochet — all explained step by step.
